FAQs

How can we help?

Kakoli’s Collection is here to make your shopping smooth and joyful. Below are answers to the most common questions about orders, shipping, payments, cancellations and returns.

About Our Jewellery

Is terracotta jewellery fragile? Will it break easily? Terracotta is kiln-baked clay, which makes it firm and durable for everyday wear. Like any handcrafted piece, it should be handled with care — avoid dropping it on hard surfaces and keep it away from water. With basic care, your terracotta jewellery will last for years. See our complete care guide →

Is the jewellery safe for sensitive skin? Is it lead-free? Yes — all our terracotta, bamboo, and fabric jewellery is made from natural materials and is completely lead-free and skin-friendly. We do not use any harmful chemicals or metal alloys in our pieces.

Is bamboo jewellery lightweight? Can I wear it daily? Bamboo jewellery is among the lightest jewellery you can wear — much lighter than metal or even terracotta. It is ideal for daily ethnic wear with sarees and kurtis and is also eco-friendly and sustainable.

What is Dokra jewellery? Is it real brass? Dokra jewellery is handcrafted using the 4,000-year-old lost-wax casting technique by tribal artisans in Bengal. Each piece has a natural antique brass finish. Because the clay mould is broken to retrieve every piece, no two Dokra items are ever identical.

How is fabric jewellery made? Our fabric jewellery is handmade using colourful fabrics, cowrie shells, oxidised metal accents, and folk-inspired motifs. Each set is stitched and assembled by hand by skilled craftswomen in rural Bengal.

Are all pieces handmade? Will my piece look exactly like the photo? Yes — every piece is 100% handmade by artisans. Because of this, there may be very slight variations in colour, texture, or pattern compared to the product photo. These small differences are a mark of authenticity, not a defect.

Can I customise a piece or request a specific colour? Yes, basic customisation is possible for many pieces — colour changes, size adjustments, or small design tweaks depending on material availability. Contact us on WhatsApp before placing your order to discuss your requirements.

What occasions is this jewellery suitable for? Our jewellery is popular for daily ethnic wear, sarees, kurtis, Durga Puja, weddings, festivals, office wear, and gifting. Bamboo and fabric sets work especially well for casual and everyday looks, while terracotta and Dokra sets are perfect for festive and formal ethnic occasions.

Account and orders

  • You can usually place orders without creating an account, but having an account makes checkout faster, lets you see your order history, and track your parcels more easily.
  • After you place an order, you receive an email with your order details and a unique order ID, and your order then moves through stages like confirmed, packed, shipped, and delivered.
  • If an item is marked “Out of Stock”, it is not available at that moment; you can contact Kakoli’s Collection to ask when it may be restocked or to request a similar product.
  • Basic customisation (for example colour changes or small design tweaks) may be possible depending on material availability and time; message Kakoli’s Collection with your request before placing the order.

Typical order statuses:

  • Order confirmed: Payment received and your handmade piece is queued for processing.
  • Packing order: Your jewellery is being finished, quality checked, and packed safely.
  • In transit: The courier has picked up your parcel and it is on the way to you.
  • Delivered: The shipment has reached the delivery address shared in your order.
  • Order cancelled: The order has been cancelled as per the cancellation rules (either by you or by Kakoli’s Collection).

How to Create Account on Kakoli's Collection

You can place an order on kakolis.com without having an account. However, for a faster and more seamless experience, it is recommended to create an account. To do so, start by clicking the "Sign In" option on your mobile or desktop device and enter your email ID. A verification link will be sent to your email—click it to authenticate and log in.

After logging in, complete your profile by providing your name, mobile number, address, and other essential details. Once your profile is complete, you can easily place orders and view your processed or canceled orders in your account dashboard.

Creating an account speeds up order processing and helps you track orders effortlessly, but guest checkout is also available for convenience.

Shipping

  • Orders are packed carefully with protective materials so that delicate terracotta and handcrafted items stay safe during transit.
  • Shipping charges are calculated automatically at checkout based on destination and total weight or size of the items; some fragile or bulky products may carry an extra charge.
  • Within India, delivery is generally expected in about 3–7 working days after dispatch; international deliveries, if offered, usually take longer depending on the courier and destination.
  • Reputed courier services are used wherever possible; if your pincode is not serviceable, you may be requested to provide an alternate address that the courier can reach.
  • If you need to change the shipping address, contact Kakoli’s Collection as soon as possible; address changes after dispatch are usually not possible.
  • Any customs duties, import taxes or additional international charges (if you order from outside India) are typically paid by the customer according to local laws.

Payment

  • Multiple secure online payment options are supported such as UPI, internet banking, debit cards and credit cards; if Cash on Delivery (COD) is offered, it will appear as an option at checkout.
  • Payments are processed through trusted payment gateways using industry‑standard encryption so that your card and bank details remain private.
  • Kakoli’s Collection does not store your full card or bank details; the payment gateway authorises your transaction directly with your bank or card network.
  • If a payment fails but money is debited from your account, the payment gateway normally reverses the amount back to the original payment method within a standard banking time frame.
  • If your payment failed and you still want to purchase, you can usually go back to your cart and try placing the order again after confirming that your bank has not blocked the transaction.

Cancellation and return

  • Orders can generally be cancelled only before dispatch; once the parcel has been handed over to the courier, cancellation may not be possible.
  • Because items are handmade and often made to order, returns and exchanges are limited; please review the specific return policy mentioned on the product page or contact Kakoli’s Collection before purchasing if you have questions.
  • If you receive an item that is damaged, defective, or significantly different from what was described, share unboxing photos/videos and contact Kakoli’s Collection promptly for review.
  • In confirmed cases of error (wrong item, major damage in transit, or mismatch with listing), you may be eligible for a refund of the item price and original shipping, and in some cases support for reasonable return shipping.
  • Refunds, once approved, are usually processed back to the original payment method within a few working days, subject to your bank’s processing time.

Contact and support
